OUR STORY

Once upon a time a couple of punk kids from the St. Louis music scene had a hair-brained scheme to make the nerdy clubhouse of their dreams. Brandon Forrest and Jon Brunts both grew up loving comics, movies, and music playing in bands in the St. Louis club scene. That DIY attitude led our heros on a journey that would end up with The Riverfront Times best comics shop in St. Louis designation! We view Altered State Comics as the community center we always wanted to be members of. It's a safe haven to come hang out and talk comics, movies, music and whatever your fandom is. We host a weekly podcast out of the store on Sunday's, we set out instruments and jam with our friends and set up regular open-mic nights for comedians and musicians alike.
